On-Track
On-Track is a generic simulation environment that enables rapid development of detailed Arena simulation models from planning and scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera). The main purpose of On-Track is to leverage the power of simulation in accounting for the variability that is inherent in all real world systems and is often ignored in planning and scheduling tools. On-Track provides the capability to download an existing program plan directly into a process simulation model. On-Track, powered by Rockwell Software's Arena, can be used to:
- Dynamically evaluate the impact of task durations variability on project completion time
- Develop realistic project forecasts to budget and allocate resources effectively
- Evaluate the impacts of changes in requirements, in available resources, or technologies
- Evaluate the effect of "what if" scenarios (change in resources and durations) on program performance measures
- Expand on already developed simulation models to increase the fidelity of the models to a more refined level of detail
After the simulation models are developed, On-Track allows for a user-friendly and intuitive means of interacting with the simulation models developed by interfacing through PAI's ARIANA tool set.
