Ariana Interface
A Powerful Graphical User Interface for Discrete Event Simulation Models
Ariana is a generic graphical-user interface designed to provide Arena users with a user-friendly and intuitive means of interacting with large or complex simulation models. The generic design of this interface allows tailoring to fit any Arena simulation model and allow users to easily change input parameter values, set up and run experimentation, and retrieve and view results. Ariana Interface, below, is designed to provide the look and feel of a spreadsheet providing an environment that most users are already comfortable operating within.
The hierarchical structure simplifies navigation through large numbers of inputs to locate the specific parameters to be changed. Once customized for a model, Ariana users with no knowledge of Arena or simulation in general can set up and run experiments and manage scenarios.
Output reporting is greatly simplified as output reports can be customized to only show the measures of interest to the user, eliminating the need and time consuming task of searching through all of the statistics provided by Arena to find key outputs. Users can easily retrieve results for one or more scenarios and begin analyzing the system under study.
In addition to providing the numerical outputs from the simulation model Ariana allows users to view results in graphical form. Graphs are designed and data files are attached providing the input.
