Web Based Decision Support Systems

Decision support systems have become essential tools as managers have realized that much of their firm's value depends on ability to access, interpret, and manage knowledge. PAI can aggregate data from a broad range of information providers, as well as client-proprietary content, and integrate it into customized and fully-hosted Web-based portal and terminal solutions. These managed solutions can provide clients and their employees with relevant information and tailored functionality in easy-to-use interfaces.

PAI employs innovative technology designed to help clients realize greater value from their internal or market data. Instead of just displaying real-time, end-of-day and delayed data, PAI can deliver the information in applications for easy comparison and appraisal in individual contexts. In addition, decision support tools and analytics, extensive charting capabilities, and sophisticated search functions are designed to help facilitate and optimize all processes.

PAI's customized information systems are designed to provide customers the ability to:

  • Minimize development, infrastructure, and data costs
  • Enhance business processes
  • Deploy state-of-the-art decision support tools
  • Seamlessly integrate proprietary information
  • Focus on core competency

Example Projects

Web-based Freight Technology Assessment Tool

Department of Transportation

In this project, PAI delivered a web-based Freight Technology Assessment tool. This tool enables public and private organizations to bring the power of quantitative and qualitative analysis during the periodic evaluation of new projects and/or technologies. The web based tool identifies if the technology (or project) is a feasible investment and helps to quantify the expected return on investment (ROI), benefits, and cost savings from deploying the technology. The web based tool enables managers/ decision makers to create a technology evaluation session and invite technology/expert panel members to participate in the session. Panel members will evaluate the technology or compare several competing technologies in terms of their impact on the business process performance. The tool manages the evaluation sessions and member surveys, sends and collects surveys, analyzes the collective responses, and provides a final report for each technology/project to be used in the final decision making and technology selection.
